In 1992, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established the Energy Star Program to help consumers and businesses save money and protect the environment while minimizing climate change from greenhouse gases.
Did you know that energy use in homes, buildings, and industry represents a full two-thirds of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States and a great deal of it is caused by appliances?
By eliminating these less efficient appliances and replacing them with more efficient ones, we can help to improve our environment. Appliances that meet the highest energy efficiency standards are identified and given the Energy Star label.
